KODAK 3D Slicer – Dual Material Supports

The KODAK Portrait 3D Printer allows the user to print models and supports using different materials, this allows the user to print using dissolvable supports like PVA or HIPS.

KODAK 3D Slicer available here.

First, load the model to the slicer.

To assign the extruder select the model and click on the extruder button located to the left side.

You will notice the bed size will be readjusted depending on the selected extruder to match the available print area. If you want to know more about how this works please read this guide.

Select the Printing profile, ensure it is a dual material support profile. These profiles automatically set the support extruder.

After selecting the profile the available print surface will be shown on the platform.

The grey circle on the bed will mark the position were the prime tower will be located, the prime tower is used to purge the nozzle after each tool change.

After clicking the Prepare button at the bottom right corner the model will be sliced.

You will notice the print and supports are generated with different extruders.

Clicking Upload will allow to upload the model to the cloud and selecting the drop-down menú in that option will allow for the opportunity to save the file to a USB drive or to the computer.
